When Mt Rinjani erupted on Lombok, the ash cloud ran thick across the entire sky over Bali, filtering the sunset colours into an extraordinary vibrancy which I had never seen before. I have tried to capture the memory of those colours in this painting. (Please note I have made a 2cm white border (as shown) on the canvas to enhance the vividity.)
