A lot of artists never test themselves out with the difficulties in doing Still Lifes. I found everything about this painting difficult. The metallic look for the brass jug and knife. The fruit. The shadows. I was however pleased with the realism in the end result. (Give a monkey enough time and he will eventually produce…….)
